This week we chat about what Thor did during Civil War, the new Westworld trailer, No Man’s Sky, Pokémon GO and what the Gotham showrunner thinks of superhero shows.

Screentime – Bojack Horseman Season 3

This week we chatted about the great Bojack Horseman Season 3, the incredibly bleak Netflix animated comedy. We’re both pretty big fans so we chatted about what worked for this third season and what we enjoy about the show in general.  If you haven’t seen it yet and don’t want anything spoiled then skip from 29:20-40:35

The Lost Lighthouse: The Weekly Rapture 68 – The New Canon

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, and welcome to our first episode with our new co-host Ian Green. Ian is the DM on our D&D podcast, and after 67 episodes of dealing with Skype problems he is stepping in to join Adam in an all-London podcast, so expect sirens. We’ll be keeping some stuff the same, changing or rebranding others, and maybe introducing some new features over the next couple of episodes. We hope you enjoy it!

News

This week we were largely talking about all of the footage released from this year’s San Diego Comic Con, so we chat about (in varying levels of detail): Wonder WomanJustice LeagueKong: Skull IslandFantastic Beasts and Where to Find ThemLego BatmanDoctor StrangeLuke CageIron FistThe DefendersThe Great Wall and Blair Witch. Aside from all that SDCC nonsense, we also talk about the problems with Pokémon Go’s updates, No Man’s Sky and the huge number of copies of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child that have been sold.

Screentime – Our tentative title for film and TV reviews and discussion
For the first instalment of Screentime (please, if you can think of a better title let us know!) we are reviewing and discussing Star Trek: Beyond, the 3rd instalment of the rebooted Star Trek movie universe. We go fairly spoiler heavy, so if you haven’t seen it yet and don’t want parts of the plot spoiled for you then skip from 43:34-67:10. We go into what we thought of the film, and what worked and didn’t work (or who didn’t work) for us.

Now Playing – Our catchup for what media we have been consuming, the title of which we came up with after recording. We’ll be chatting about what we are reading, watching and playing right now!

Adam Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse/Stranger Things on Netflix/Uncharted 4 on PS4
Ian Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf by R.A. Salvatore/He isn’t watching anything right now/Mass Effect 3 on Xbox 360

The Lost Lighthouse: The Weekly Rapture 67 – Off the Heezy

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chat about Pokémon Go, Star Wars Celebration Europe, the trailer for the new Batman game from Telltale and the upcoming release of the NES Classic Mini, while Adam has a totally originally hot take on Pokémon Go, and Gary has a very important announcement.
This week’s main talking point was the new Ghostbusters film, which Adam went to see last week with Total Reroll DM Ian Green. We review the film, going through what we liked about it (which was basically all of it, especially Holtzmann) and what we didn’t, which was pretty much just the new theme song.

The Lost Lighthouse: The Weekly Rapture 66 – People Are Awful

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week Gary and Adam chat about Marvel’s ‘Divided We Fall’, the removal of Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection from the canon, Preacher (with a minor spoiler sort of) and the official announcement of the Bioshock Collection, while Adam watches a cartoon that is 8 years old and Gary is somehow responsible for the EU Referendum result.

No main talking point this week!

The Lost Lighthouse: The Weekly Rapture 65 – Horses are Bull***t (E3 Special!)

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we had two main talking points. For the first, Gary and Adam each talk about the three games that looked the most interesting to them from this year’s E3. Gary picked Mass Effect: AndromedaWe Happy Few and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, while Adam chose Horizon: Zero DawnResident Evil 7 and Death Stranding.

Then Adam chatted about Warcraft: The Beginning with Ian and Stuart (the DM and Vin Johnson from our D&D podcast Total Reroll). We talked through what we thought worked, what didn’t, and whether it was the first non-terrible video game film. There may be minor spoilers, but shouldn’t be particularly heavy!

The Lost Lighthouse: The Weekly Rapture 54 – Up In My Grill

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chat about the Doctor Strange images we’ve seen, the new Black Panther director, Tom Clancy’s The Division and George Lucas’s comments about Disney, while Gary’s new kitten tries to destroy the entire podcast and Adam bitches about Fallout 4.

There was no main talking point or Gary in 60 Seconds this week due to our crappy organisation skills. They’ll both be back next time!

The Lost Lighthouse: The Weekly Rapture 52 – The Bacon Tremors

Welcome back to The Weekly Rapture, brought to you by The Lost Lighthouse.

This week we chatted about the Captain America: Civil War trailer, the Batman Vs. Superman teaser (the rather spoilery trailer was released after we recorded), Marvel’s Secret Wars delays and Kevin Bacon returning to Tremors, while Gary cuts off entire news segments and Adam remembers Kevin Bacon is actually a good actor.

Gary in 60 seconds was ”Pacific Rim’, with Gary attempting to take on kaiju and jaegers in under a minute. Keep an eye on twitter  for the poll for next time!

This week’s main talking point was Jessica Jones, the new dark superhero TV show from Marvel and Netflix. We talk about what we liked (a lot), what we didn’t (not much) and how it all fits in the MCU. It’s light on spoilers, but if you’re worried about finding out anything at all before you watch it then you can skip the second half of the podcast from 32 minutes in, and listen later to see if you agree with us!
